Reincarnation of JOHNNY CASH. Story songs about Rusty's ramblings. Greenwich Village to San Francisco...to Sweden and Belgium...New Zealand and back. The people, the land...the taverns in the San Francisco bay area, the "beautiful losers"…all of the characters he's interacted with along the way. Evans is a Rockabilly Hall of Famer and has had one of the longest histories in Rock and Roll Cultdom. Originally recorded for Brunswick records in 1957...sharing the stage with Buddy Holly...and later with Bob Dylan. Check out his latest outing of 13 self penned songs. You won't be disappointed.

From the rockabilly world of Memphis to New York City's Greenwich Village Folk music revival and on to Nashville's legendary Ryman auditorium, Rusty Evans carries the torch from Woody Guthrie to Johnny Cash. The release of "I'm Comin’ Home" in 2002 arrived at #2 on most played indie country artists on the European charts. The CD is highlighted by bright twangy telecaster lead guitar, while the hot rhythms smoke along the tracks. Seven of the tunes are Rusty's originals.

RUSTY EVANS is an original Rockabilly who recorded for Brunswick at the same period as BUDDY HOLLY. His 1958 recording of LEDBELLY'S "MIDNIGHT SPECIAL" was perhaps the first "Folk Rock" recording ever made. His love for Country music was inspired by a meeting with JOHNNY CASH. He went on to jam with BOB DYLAN in the cafe's of Greenwich Village. DYLAN told RUSTY he sounded like CASH and advised him to "keep it country." Being a creative adventurer Rusty went on to sing with the New Christy Minstrels and in the late 1960's wrote and produced many of the San Francisco Rock bands such as "It's A Beautiful Day."

He recorded many singles and albums and went on to a very successful visual art career, check out UZILEVSKYART.COM
